DION is a non-profit group dedicated to building community through interfaith collaboration. We promote unity, integrity, respect, education and the successful development of our Metro Detroit youth and family.

During these times of uncertainty, injustice, inequality, national discord, we feel the need to push back and reaffirm our DION values: that in spite of our differences and life experiences, we have much more in common than we do in our differences.

We celebrate  and respect our differences.  And through our work together we have come to appreciate our similarities as well as the things that make each of us unique. This has allowed us to collaborate, to be creative, and to effectively help each other and those in our community who need our assistance.

We recognize that there are still many problems in our government, healthcare,education, criminal justice and social systems. We need to have open discussions about these issues and search together for effective solutions. We need to continue to use our DION tools of promoting education, conflict resolution, mutual respect, and cultural change in order to help create new, effective and meaningful changes necessary to strengthen and sustain us and individuals and as communities. 

The mission of the Detroit Interfaith Outreach Network is: "To build community through interfaith collaboration to promote unity, integrity, respect, educational and the successful development of our Metro Detroit youth and family. We focus on conflict resolution, education, arts and culture, and interfaith worship."
